Sadly, no, Old Hat, I'm not. I'm truly a glutton for punishment (or perhaps just a glutton???) when it comes to fruit, especially berries. Oh, and dried apricots. Yeah, that was some interesting poop......
Anyway, part of what I do is to help evaluate advanced selections in a raspberry breeding program; the goal is to determine if the selections have the potential to be released on the market as a new variety. In the Pacific Northwest (where I live), there is a quite large processing raspberry industry. All of the fruit is harvested by machine, so for a selection to make it as a variety, it has to machine harvest. This summer, we evaluated two fields, each of which had 100 unique selections. Each selection was represented by a 10-plant plot. That's a lot of raspberries. And part of evaluating them is tasting them. :)
And no, I don't know when to stop. And no, I really don't have to taste EVERY one, and I don't, if it looks like crap (ie, crumbles completely). But when you find one that tastes good, it's hard to stop!
So I'm guessing that it's pretty darn close to two pints. I know I can down a whole pint in 15 minutes, no problems. :)
