Hmmm, I guess I'd probably think the blood is from the lowering of the pred, also.
Seeing as psyllium is used by so many as a laxative, I have a hard time canepcutalizing it as something that causes constipation, but I guess we're all different. I do find it necessary to drink plenty of water with it, but my stools have never been "hard" because of it, at least in these 27 years.....
I was on narcotic pain pain killers for a while in spring because of my hip replacement surgery, and they did harden the stools and cause them to slow down. Maybe the combination of going off those, with that change in consistency/transit time, in combination with the slight decrease in pred, and a still slightly friable colon wall......?
