So back in August, when I moved for grad school, I had continuous diarrhea, nausea, and acid reflux. Things got a bit better after my next Remicade infusion, but not great. I wasn't having urgency or a lot of BMs, but half of my BMs were loose (like paste). So I got my next infusion at 6 weeks instead of 8. It didn't help all that much. The past couple weeks I've been having loose stools everyday (1-4 BMs in the morning), regardless of what I eat (normally I get loose stools only when I eat something that bothers my IBS--too much cheese, fried food, etc.). There's no blood.
I'm beginning to think this is something other than UC (Candida, celiac....something). Blood is always my first symptom and I'm not having urgency or nausea or being bothered by certain foods. All of my blood tests are in normal range.
Any thoughts? I've already increased my probiotics and fiber, and it's not making a difference.
ETA: I've also been getting a lot of pimples and eczema on my butt and upper thighs. Could it be something different? My GI took a look at it and said it was just a zit and didn't seem worried.
"Fun" Story: so I went to the neurologist for migraines, and the medical assistant or nurse (whoever was taking the info before the doctor) had no idea what ulcerative colitis was, even though one of her colleagues had it. This was her first question: "Why do you have to take so many medications? You're so young!" I told her that I didn't want to be pooping blood out for the rest of my life or have my colon removed. Her next question "so, it's, like, debilitating?" YES! Ugh.
