lol jk... I just don't like it. I've only had it a few times; it's more the heat and richness that get me, not the caff.

Lately I've been testing decaf out since I want to eliminate my green tea with caff. My results so far is that instant decaf=bad for my colon. I've tried 2 brand names of instant decaf. I just tried Organic decaf beans ground at home and no problems but it's only been one day. However it's so expensive that I'll probably stick to decaf tea bags lol.

The reason I went with organic is to avoid sulfites and other chemicals that go into the decaf. process.

Update: 2 days of organic decaf beans and no problems. So it's the instant decaf my colon dislikes.

If you really want coffee, Folger's makes a decaf coffee that is easy on the gut. Forgot the name of it though - Gut soother seems to come to mind but I may be wrong. I love my coffee and I drink regular. It bothers me a bit in the mornings but it helps get things going for me because some days I have issues with constipation.

I need to have my coffee fix, regular and strong.  It also helps me by regulating my poop.  I usually will have a cup in the morning and if I have to go I go in the morning.  If I don't have to go then usually I am good until the evening or the next day.  I love the richness and aroma of coffee.  It's hard for me to be friends with those that don't love it.

Meh, I down coffee like it's water and am fine (decaf AND regular), however I'm in remission. I would never do this in a flare. However decaf didn't seem to irritate me when I was flaring.

Coffee in general irritates the gut. I do better with real coffee than I do with decaffeinated.

For me, decaf coffee is like alcohol free beer. I just don't get it.

It's the amount of caffeine. Decaf coffee still contains caffeine even though the amount is very small, depending on the coffee. I can't drink regular coffee. It gives me way too much energy. I'm zooming, can't slow down, and get the shakes.

Some of us like coffee for the taste?

Having said that, I can't drink it, regular or decaf. It's one of my triggers. I even tried a cup (organic decaf) after months of no issues and I had diarrhea for 2 weeks from that one cup. Not something I can tolerate at all and I miss it terribly :(

I drink my coffee in the morning knowing it's going to get things moving within a half hour. I limit myself to one cup.....but as long as I have a half hour to let the "magic" happen it seems to make my day go better.

I've stopped drinking coffee and found that my UC seemed to get a bit worse (weird). I should also mention that decaf doesn't work well for me and I stick with the same regular eight o'clock coffee.
