I am facing a flare that started in the middle of december. Most probably from bananas, wich i consumed on a daily bases at that moment. I usualy get a lot of gas and bloating from bananas and this happends since i was a kid.
I also ate at the same time mostly pork meat. During information i've found in december it contains sulfites, wich are a problem for UC'ers, as some studies state. Probably it contribuited to my flare.
Anyway, i quit eating them (banana&pork) after a week or so.
During winter hollydays i've cheated several times with some white bread&honey. (It's been one of my pleasures, since i was a boy to put a slice of butter on a piece of bread and eat it with honey). Honey is ok for me, but if i keep moderate, when in high quantities it's always makes me flare. This combination triggered my Ankylosing spondylitis also (from the starch in the bread), but i can say that until now my AS flare is a mild one.
It's been around 2 weeks since i've stopped making mistakes, but i cannot make any progress out of this flare. No blood, just some traces a couple of times, but i do not bleed even if my UC is active. Mostly diarrhea, gas, bloating and a lot of pains and spasm on my entire colon but especialy on my rectum.
My diet at this moment is simple:
chicken, chiken soup
all raw or cooked.
1-2 apple/day or 1-2 quinces/day.
One a week a pie made from almond flour & baked apples.
Verry rarely one glass of wine.
And the medication and supplements that are in my signature.
Most of the time this diet helps me out on a flare when i have a little starch, but this times it seems i am stucked.
