So, I saw the Heidelberg research into using phosphatidylcholine for UC therapy
and see that people are ordering eudragit coated granules from Germany. Has anybody tried homebrewing your own? I was thinking of ordering either phosphatidylcholine or lecithin capsules and then coating them with sodium alginate. Sodium alginate is an enteric coating and readily available in food grade off Amazon.
Some simple bathtub chemistry should be good enough to test it. Muriatic acid is HCl, immerse your coated pills in HCl, maybe agitate a little bit, and dilute until the pills come apart. Then measure the pH. (With your handy pH strips.) It should stay solid until after pH 5.5.
Edit: So I just ordered my Triple Strength Lecithin and Sodium Alginate off Amazon, $61 after shipping for 400 softgels and 16 oz of alginate. Roughly 3 months of product. I'll throw up a web page with my testing results and technique in a couple of weeks.
