Hello everyone. In december I started flaring after a year of no flares. It got really bad & after my 2nd cscope we learned it spread & I was diagnosed with pancolitis. I was at 60mg pred & taking asacol & canasa. I started getting better slowly but was kind of bothered that my gi wanted me to taper pred by 10mg every 10 days. I feel like that was just too fast. Especially since he started me on 100mg 6mp around the same time. At the begining of taking the 6mp I had a feeling I would be almost off pred & the 6mp would have not started working & I'd be flaring again..well I was right. I was down to 10mg pred last week & all of a sudden I'm having blood again. I've been flaring for a week now but it's not that bad, only having 3-4 bm's a day, no pain, no urgency. My gi said go up to 20mg pred & stay for a while to let the 6mp start working. I just pray the flare doesn't get like it was in jan. I feel like if I would have tapered a lot slower I'd be at around 30mg and be fine. I know he just wanted to get me off pred as fast as possible, I just hope I don't have to move my way back up the pred ladder. My gi has been talking about remicade but I really don't want to go there, guess it's not my choice but my colons choice. I'm taking canasa during the day & mesalamine enemas at night before bed, also been on asacolHD 6 pills a day. They seem to be helping a lot but who really knows what's going on. This is so frustrating! Just when you think you're ready to start traveling & having fun again, the toilet owns you again :( Hopefully everyone is doing good.
