I haven't flared since my first one last year. I can have some hiccups now and then, if I'm stressed or food bothers me. But I think this bump in the road was due to my period. I just had loose stools for two days then went back to normal.
I've noticed that my period may effect my UC sporadically. I was doing great before my time of the month.
I'm working with my doc to decide reintroducing 5ASA's. And possibly lowering the imuran so I can get off of it.
I didn't try the enemas, just the pills. 1000 mg a day. I tried 500 mg but to no avail. Bad cramping, increased blood, nausea. I had some cramping prior to the medication, but not that bad.i just want to clarify with my post:
I've found that if I have dairy in my diet my stools can sometimes be irregular, either loose, in pieces but formed.
It may take several days to two weeks for me to get back to normal. If I eat something that doesn't agree with me, or I eat out, I have irregularity. But since I've cut all that out I've been normal, except for those few days this week. I've also noticed that if I don't have bulky food, my stools may be not be consistent size wise.
I'm just curious as to why it would take my digestive track so long to get back to normal. Why is that?
