I've got a colonoscopy late Friday morning at Mayo and the doctor really wanted me to use Moviprep.
I've used Golytely (horrible and I threw up after about 1/2 of it), Fleet phososoda (great, too bad it was bad for the kidneys), 2 bottles of magnesium citrate (I had 1 bottle and couldn't stop going to the bathroom for hours and hours) and the Miralax/Ducolax/Mag citrate prep before.
By far the Miralax one has been the best (other than Fleet which is no longer around). Even though its alot of liquid to drink, it didn't make me throw up or gag and it cleaned me out (or so the doctor said).
I begged the doctor to let me use the Miralax and he was very hesitant, saying if it didn't work they'd have to cancel and all the usual stuff they tell you. He claims the Moviprep is what they've found cleans you out the best. He didn't seem to have ever heard of the Miralax prep before (which I find odd for Mayo).
My question is, for those of you who have done both, do you feel they both clean you out the same? With the Miralax it did seem to take awhile before I had the first BM, but after that it was all downhill. I never even took the mag citrate the next morning and I was still cleaned out, although apparently the morning prep is to get any mucous out of you that could cover up polyps in the colon or make them hard to see.
Would you trust the Miralax prep to get you 'as clean' as they claim the Moviprep does?
