And I have to ask you why you prefer to suffer the serious side effects, some of which can last your lifetime.
I don't prefer to suffer serious side effects :$ I don't understand where this is coming from. I'm not a GI; I look to my doctor as the expert in my condition. When I was first diagnosed, I didn't know what was wrong with me. I looked to her for guidance. Now that I am more educated on my own condition, I'm trying to be more proactive in my treatment. There is still a lot I don't know. I'm not too sure what you mean by serious side effects. I know Prednisone can give you serious side effects but so can Imuran. I'm just at a point right now when I need to make a decision and FAST! My health is getting horrible and I can't get a hold of anyone of my doctors. My family doctor is on vacation and my old GI seems to be on vacation and my other GI on maternity leave. Before leaving for vacation, my GI gave me a prescript
ion for Imuran + Prednisone. I don't want the inflammation to get so out of hand that I could cause some long-term damage to my colon. My family doctor told me that my UC is very aggressive and that it needs to get under control ASAP.
