I've been suffering from terrible joint pains, bone pains, and pains down my back - that all came with the UC. I haven't been wanting to get on any big guns medications.
I've started this for the past week, and I wanted to share it, in case it might help any others suffering with those terrible joint/bone/back pains.
I just started adding Boswellia Serrata (from reading aguywithuc posts who was taking 200mg I think), but in much greater quantities - closer to 2000 mg per day as I've read that it helps with inflammation - and what is UC but inflammation? But also I was hoping it would help with my terrible arthritis induced UC and so far, it has helped alot. I used to wake up at 4am every morning with terrible pains, and those have gone away.
I chose to buy organic Boswellia Serrata powder (because I can't take pills as I choke on them), and they told me 1/2 teaspoon is equivalent to 1000 mg, so I've added 1/2 teaspoon into my protein shakes ( twice daily), which makes my consumption around 2000 mg per day. I had read that with severe inflammation, you can take dosages of up to 1000mg - 3 to 4 times daily. BTW, a whole pound's worth of the Boswellia cost $37. I figure that should last awhile, as I haven't yet figured out how many teaspoons are in a pound, haha.
Ok, just looked it up: 96 teaspoons in 1 pound that would mean a 3 month supply @ $37.
