There is actually a board here dedicated to Crohn's disease:
This is the UC board but since the 2 conditions are similar, you can probably get some diet advice here. I have the same problem, I was on prednisone and I gained a lot and I've been doing so well for the past couple months, I've had a hard time losing the weight. I have been hiking and trying to eat healthier but honestly, I've missed all of the junk food so much that it is hard to stop eating it now that I feel well enough to do so. I think the key for us is to avoid carbs if we want to lose some weight. Have you heard of the specific carbohydrate diet? It can be helpful for people with IBD but it's also great for losing weight if you're like me and eat too much sugar and carbohydrates. It does allow for a lot of veggies which may not be great for you but you can opt to eat them cooked. I was just thinking this morning that I would like to go back on a carb-free diet but I also want a waffle. I think the waffle will win today. I keep saying "tomorrow" & it never happens. I am just thankful to be feeling well but I desperately want to lose 10+ pounds!!!
