My son was unfortunatly recently diagonised with mild UP via scope. Blood was only detected in a stool sample and already he is anemic. He was given Apriso and Rowasa. It has only been 2 weeks but I see no difference, in fact maybe a tab worse today. He has gone from loose stools to straining and now back to loose. He's tired and his appetite is off. It's been so long since I had to deal with this and am getting nervous considering my situation. I remember something about a 3 week mark with the meds and getting into a remission? Sorry if I am panicking but I need someone to panick to right now-lol. Right now he is stable. Seeing the GI again this week.
Thanks
Susan

I'm sorry to hear about your son. I think Rowasa can take some time to work, and I know my AsacolHD did say something about improvement in 3 weeks. So maybe you just need to hang in there a while longer. Or maybe think about starting the steroid enemas?

AsacolHD 2 pills 3x/day
Prednisone 10 mg
