Thanks so much for sharing this story. There are a few others who use e-cigs and nicotine gum and it helps them to achieve remission or basically keep their symptoms at bay. Google it....there is a link between UC and smoking (meaning, suprisingly smoking is good for UC--of course very bad for other things) There is even a well respected Dr.(Stephen Hanauer) that tells his ex smoking patients who can't get into remission w/ the asa's and are looking at heavy duty drugs to smoke 3-5 cigs a day. I would think that the e-cig/nicotine gum would be a much safer route.
