I was doing my morning workout while watching "The Doctors" when a gastro. came on talking about the benefits of Fecal Transplants! I could not have been more shocked. I figure since that show is mostly about conventional medicine that they would never bring up fecal transplants. They were saying it's a great treatment for C. Diff and hope that it will be used as a first consideration instead of a last resort. I was just so happy they talked about it (even if it wasn't colitis-related) and I called my mom! haha I was like "yeah, other people's poop can heal you!" My mom only believes/considers treatments that "real" doctors would use so I just had to tell her all about it immediately.

Did anyone else watch it?

I didn't see it but that's great that people are bringing some awareness to FB as a treatment.

Hello All,

I saw the same segment, the doctors name is Dr. Tim Rubin from Duluth MN. I called his office and I had to leave a message. Someone did call me back and currently the fecal transplant is only for C Diff not ulcerated colitis. I talked to my doctor last week about this and she said the most promising is the worm theory but for ulcerated colitis but studies have not started yet. She said that makes the most sense, and if they could come up with a vaccine from the worms that will help/cure Ulcerated Colitis.

I have had so many flares the last 4 years I am considering surgery, removal of my colon...
