Doctor just prescribed Lialda for me - I've been taking Colazal for probably 6 years, Asacol for like 8 years before that, and I can't even remember what before that. Colazal was working fine till I stopped my mesalamine enemas and got a flare.
Is there any real difference between Lialda and Colazal (other than the number of pills per day)? Lialda sure is expensive - $800 for 30 day supply, geez! I've never paid that much, even when Colazal was a new drug. I guess cost isn't too big of a deal since I have a $2500 medical/drug combined deductible then anything else is free for the rest of the year. So I'll hit it one way or another.
Just curious if Lialda is really that much better and if anybody on here has found it worked better than the others. I think my doctors hope was I could take Lialda alone and no enemas although most of my inflamation is near the bottom of my colon so the enemas always seemed to do the trick.
