Squatty Potty should definitely help with the constipation.
I just got one a few weeks ago, and although it takes a bit of getting used to, I do believe it is a more "natural way" to go and prevents straining of pelvic muscles.
But if constipation is an issue for you, you may want to look into psyllium seed powder.
I think it's an ingenious idea of yours to make your own version with soccer balls!
Maybe you can market it on Shark tank, lol.
