wing, maybe posting something on crohns board might be helpful.
I was the exact opposite of you, I was dx with crohns in 1991, but in 2006, new gi dr thought it looked more like uc and i had the prometheus test which showed uc, so since 2006 they tell me its uc. I do remember the dr telling me when i had crohns that it could also be uc, but that it didnt matter because they are both treated the same way, same meds, etc. At the time i used asacol and rowasa, The reason they thought i had cd was that i have it throughout my colon but it skips around . but my new gi noted my my ilium is fine, which is why she suspected uc. my last scope showed a 4 inch isolated spot of inflammation in my sigmoid. i havent heard of anybodies uc on this board acting the way mine acts so i have my doubts....
i think a second opinion may be a good thing.
