no, I disagree. what doctor will tell specific people to not eat this, not eat that...I don't or would never eat half the stuff others on here eat, and I eat what others would never eat. I've never flared from any foods...proven that for over 23 years.
I'm only talking about
restricting certain foods, not adding anything other than the recommended food groups.
Just because some symptoms may/would be controlled by adding/controlling certain foodsm that doesn't mean there's no inflammation. There are many people who confuse food symptoms with UC symptoms. Some people don't eat at all during the day thinking that's good.
Not I. But yes, its likely only half of the problem is fixed when avoiding certain foods that cause problems.
Some believe everything and try every diet and believe they'll cure their UC, almost like being addicted to the concepts. My mind doesn't work that way. But...if I had a disease that was seriously affected by foods, it would only make sense that I don't eat them.
Can't blame anyone for trying though right? I mean if I only
listened to my doctor, and didnt seek advice or info elsewhere, I would be in a much worse place than I am now. I don't believe in a cure, just treatment -much like alcoholism, drug addiction or celiac disease. If the goal is to avoid something life-altering, like surgery, then avoiding problematic foods may be a good idea.
