I'm going to Poland for 3 month tonight, and just got back form my pharmacy. Need to vent, sorry
As I won't be in States for the next 3 months, I needed to gather all my medications in advance. Especially 3 full month refills of Lialda and RX for Prednisone, just in case I start flaring in Poland. My Gi gave me instruction for this, needed to fill the RX. OK. I know they will have to have some sprae time, at the Pharmacy for ordering the unusual amount of Lialda. So I gave them both RX two weeks ago. Told them when and where I leave. Checked up with my insurance if they would cover my travel package (3 months supply at once) - they would. Knowing all of that, I checked on pharmacy few days later. They still had to contact my GI if he would allow me to refill 3 monthly RX at once... Of course, he would, He knows about
my travel plans. But that is procedure. Ok once again, still have time.
Few days later... there were only 10 pills (out of 250) of Prednisone for me and just ONE bottle of Lialda (insted of 3). I was told that my insurance would not cover my 3 months refill. What? I was really nice and patient, told my story once again, make sure they would call the insurance and ASK them what to do in case of travel package.... I had similar situation last year, so I know the drill.
This Monday I went there sure, that would pick up all my outstanding refills. Nope. Just two containers of Lialda (one new, one from few days before), no Prednisone. I was told that the rest is on order, and should be Tuesday (yesterday) evening. OK, I still had time. Today I went there once again and what?! They put my meds on order for Thursday?! I'm leaving tonight, told them about
it every day almost and now what?
The result is that they had to borrow the meds for me from other pharmacies! I just love the extra stress just before boarding for a 10 hours flight with 2 kids.
