My GI tested me for vitamin deficiencies- he's the opposite of what you might call a "holistic" dr but he understands the potential for malnutrition in IBD. Ask your GP to order the test. Some clinics also offer "a la carte" labs that you can order yourself (e.g. CBC, pregnancy test, drug test, etc.) and you may be able to find one that does vitamin screening without a dr's orders. The only downside to doing tests this way is that insurance doesn't generally cover it.
Do you currently take a multi-vitamin? I take GNC's Ultra Mega Women's. Even though I was in the middle of a flare, bleeding, and not eating well, all of my vitamin levels, including vitamin D (I work in a basement and never see the sun) were normal and my HGB was only a little low (~10 instead of ~8 that I had with my previous flare).
