I used to get sick allll the time (colds, bronchitis, pharyngitis, strep throat, ear infections, sinus infections etc) so back in 2000 I had my tonsils and adnoids removed (at the age of 30 - OUCH!) and since than I would get a cold maybe once a year sometimes not at all. It was great! Than in 2007'ish (?) I started on 6mp; I was expecting to get sick more often. I didn't really but if I did get sick, I got SICK - fevers of 102+ feeling like I got hit by a truck kind of sick. Now since starting on Remicade, I am back to before getting my tonsils out only not as severe. I had a sinus infection on New Years Eve and than yesterday my throat started hurting and I feel like I have a sock shoved in the back of my throat. Twice in one year is a record for me since before 2000. I sincerely hope that this is not going to be a trend!
Sorry - I had to whine a bit! I'm a big baby when it comes to getting sick LOL
Now I am wondering....I have been having days where it feels like someone literally pulled the plug on me. At first I thought it was my low B12/folic acid but is it possible for the Ebstein Barr virus to reactivate at random and only short periods? I had mono when I was 17 and they say that if you get mono, you still carry the virus but it becomes dormant. Is it possible that the Remi is activating this virus?
