There are all kinds of different diets. What if you are wrong? What if you decide to go gluten free but the truth is you don't have a gluten problem? What if you decide to do Paleo or SCD or anticandida and you are wrong? This UC business is all trial and error. Some people have decided to do a juicing kind of diet and found out that they were wrong and the diet actually made them worse. Same with all diets. What if you only have food allergies to certain foods but instead of just avoiding those certain foods you do an entire diet, encompassing things that you aren't even allergic too? I can see if you have found a diet that works on you to stick with it for life but until you get to that point you have to do trial and error, in other words, doing a diet for a limited amount of time. Diets often aren't even the answer to UC or other diseases. Of course they can be responsible for some diseases but the truth is people get sick with bad diseases and their diets had absolutely nothing to do with it. Several on this forum were doing totally healthy diets before coming down with UC. It's not so simplistic as to say that the reason we got sick was from eating wrong and the way to fix it is to eat right.
