My hemi's have almost always been the result of food intolerances. Don't know if yours are, but if you can go on a very limited diet for a few days, that might help. I know, I know, you want pain relief NOW! I've lived through it...you just have to tough it out, and definitely use lidocaine. Epsom salts baths also helped me a lot, but, in hind sight (oh, man, bad pun!), I would recommend to start slow. I had such a magnesium deficiency, and my butt leaked enough to allow lots of Epsom salts into my colon. I probably don't have to tell you how painful the ensuing four bm's in a row were. So, start with Epsom salts foot bath, or leg soak.
The other thing that helped me immensely was a procedure performed by a naturopathic doctor. The slightly crass version is that they stick an electrified probe in your hind end, turn on the juice, and the hemi shrinks. It takes several treatments (several days) for a prolapsed internal hemi to go down, but its better than surgery or just hoping and waiting. It's called the Keesey treatment.
