My daughter's GI is a top IBD specialist but she does "not believe in IBS." We asked about whether symptoms my daughter was experiencing could have been due to IBS and she responded "IBS is a name given to stomach aches by adults who do not want to go to work. It doesn't exist. You and I would go to work if we had stomach aches but some people don't and they say they have IBS". ?? Weird.
Having said that, there are a few studies which show that it's actually microscopically active IBD which is to blame for "IBS" in IBDers. I do think they're both bacterial in origin though (as opposed to bacterial vs functional).
... yes, but you think the sunrise is bacterial in origin. LOL.
... but that GI you quote is at risk for a major lawsuit for malpractice if he/she fails to properly treat someone with a recognized disease, and further to make such character judgements. ... there was a time doctors made judgements about
a woman weaker constitution, more fragile mind, and hysterical uterus. May he/she encounter a mirror and see her ugly self.
