The reason I ask is because a few months ago I had THE most irritating itch on my upper arms - it was a deep itch, not just surface. I tried everything...changing soaps, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, taking Benedryl (oral and local) but the only thing that worked is going GF for a few months. Btw, going GF only marginally helped my gut so I don't think that I have any intolerance, but after going GF for a month or so, the itch went away (after suffering for 3 months prior to stopping gluten - imagine...a deep itch that did NOT go away for 3 MONTHS! It was driving me insane!). I have slowly introduced gluten back into my diet, at first if I added more gluten I got itchy again but slowly it went away. Now gluten doesn't bother me anymore. I guess I'm confused??
