"Standard American Diet (SAD). "
I hate this derogatory term. For me, it implies eating McDonald everyday, or eating junk or what a group of people would consider bad. Standard American Diet is far from that.
Really, you mean to tell me that Americans eat fast food and crap everyday? No, most likely not.
Some will pasta one day, salads the next, soups, fruits and whatever else. I mean, that is what I ate before. Yes, I ate pizza and some fast food but not every day.
To me this is a normal diet. A mix of things
Diets like Paleo or SCD are extreme diets, I wouldn't consider a diet like that to be a model standard. Asians have been eating rice since freaking millenia. Potatoes are a staple in human diet for a long time. Yet, those 2 items are considered "bad" in Paleo and SCD diet.
The reason I follow a diet such as SCD or Paleo is because I have no choice. Not because I feel superior because I eat a spartan diet compared to the rest of the population, thus will never address as what I consider a NORMAL diet "SAD" ....which the diet crazies have labeled what is trully the norm.
