Just thought many would be interested.....At least there are doctors looking into solutions.
U.C. (Proctosigmoiditis) DX 2004 after quiting smoking. Smoking again. Back in Remission. (Extremely tough personal choice)
CURRENT MEDS: UC=Asacol 400mg 2x3 daily; Citrucel powder; Fish oil; Multi-vitamin
Hypertension=Cozzar;Carvedilol; Hydrochlorothiazide
Cholesterol=Welchol; Zetia

That really sucks. FT was my next step.
Late 40s male
Diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis in 1988
Balsalazide (generic Colazal), 3g/2x day.
(lowered to 3g/1x day on 11/30/11)
2000IU Vit D3 daily.
Started LDN on 5/20/11 (4.5mg caps)
Started VSL#3DS (one sachet a day) on 6/28/11
Was symptom-free though 7/2011
Considering: Fecal transplant
Colonoscopy: 9/6/12, results: Ulcerative Proctitis still
Minor flare started 3/7/13

Don't be discouraged. They only repeated this 3 days??
Borody himself has said some UC patients take 30 +, so I personally
wouldn't expect great results with only 3 days treatment.
Don't get why they would administer probiotics either, they don't implant
according to Borody and sidney goldstein (infectious disease doctor in US)
That could do more harm than good.

I wouldn't trust that study either. Three days to combat bacteria when they recommend 10 days as a minimum for eating antibiotics?
Status: In remission since beginning of April 2012
Diet: No gluten, no starches and avoiding eating much sugar.
Medicine: Asacol 4x100 daily
FT: Performed Fecal Bacteriotherapy at home using my wife as donor starting the 29th of February for 27 days. Please see for the procedure I used

There is also a very small number of participants in this study, only 5.
