Hello folks,

I am using VSL#3 DS and Benebiotics (Now Nexabiotics). I know there are some users of Florastor here. Some also take S. boulardii. I would like to know which other brands of probiotics folks use.

Thanks.

P.S. - Not interested in shelf brands like Align.

I use VSL#3 (you can't get the double strength in the UK) mixed with 3 heaped teaspoons of psyllium seed powder and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Since then urgency and bulk have improved significantly!

VSL #3 DS since early 2010. Two packs (sometimes one) during good times and four/day in flares.

Briefly tried Florastor during a flare and didn't notice anything either way.

I have made VSL #3 yogurt and oddly enough seems to cause more problems than helping.

VSL#3 DS for me. Taking 2 packs a night but does not seem to be helping me out of a flair.

I started out with Webber then Jamieson when I was on a long course of antibiotics for sinus issues in 2000.

I soon seriously switched to  Natural Factors Protec capsules or a few years.

Then switched to what's in my signature...Renew Life Ultra Flora Critical Care (50 billion).
As well as Primadophilus Reuteri capsules.

I do add one of the Costco Multi probiotic most nights...just because we have them.

All taken at bedtime about an hour after my meds/supplements.

I now give my cat the New Roots Max probiotic powder each feeding.

Okay, I won't tell you that I've tried a bunch of them over the past 13 years, but Align works better than all the rest for me.

I use a few and always rotate them:

scdophilus
s. boulardii
prescript assist
benebiotics

kefir and yogurt are my biggest probiotics so i don't use probiotic supplements as much anymore.

Its best to blitz your system with different probiotics then to take any single one long term.

Natren's Healthy Trinity and Custom Probiotics' six strain powdered blend are two that I alternate. The CP six strain blend is the one I credit with bringing me out of my year-long initial flare.

Dr. Ohhira Probiotics Professional Formula

If you read up on Amazon, it has helped a lot of people with gastro problems, even other problems like candida, acne, etc

My staples were VSL3 (caps, then the DS pouches when a change in insurance covered them), mutaflor, primal defense caps, benebiotics, and Thorne s. boulardi caps.

To PK-
You said "Its best to blitz your system with different probiotics then to take any single one long term."

Are you saying it's best to use a probiotic containing several strains? or it's best to change brands?
I've been taking Benebiotics (18 strains including S. Boulardii) for a long time.
Would you suggest alternating with another brand?
Any favorites?
Thanks,
IAS

PS: Just realized that Benebiotics is now Nexabiotics (20 strains). Have ordered 6 months supply each time so don't know when that happened ??

Thank you everyone. These are loads of options. I will try almost each and everyone and decide finally which one to rotate with.

@quincy,

Is there Kirkland probiotic? I have never seen it, even not listed in Costco's website. Could you please link it or upload a picture if its not too much of a trouble.

Thanks in advance.
