I have just finished 3 weeks on Cortenema.  I have had some insomnia but his morning, I had a strange episode of, I guess I'll call it like a hot flash...felt weak, started sweating and little faint.  It did pass, but was scary.  Who has had this and is it normal?  Wow, this UC is gonna kill me. Any insight or suggestions.

Thanks,

B

Yes, I would get that when I was on them. But I was on them for about a year (off and on; mostly on). The hot flashes would be random. Several times they would hit when I was standing at a checkout line in a store and I would have to leave the line to sit down because it felt like I was going to pass out.

Thanks for responding Red...I haven't been on them that long and I'm not happy since I thought there would be very little s/effects. I was okay (well as okay as you can be w/ insomnia) but this was sort of scary. Feeling faint and like you will pass out...not good.

hmmmmm......I have been taking them about 2 weeks. I have felt faint and like I was going to pass out also. Considering all my other side effects and that I have felt BETTER since starting the cortenemas and VSL3 (thanks to this forum!!!! yay!), I wasn't all that concerned. Should I be? What are you going to do hateuc?

ohherdcr, yeah I only had this effect this morning. I was Rx'd them for 3 weeks, so I am pretty much done w/ them, but I would like to be able to use them in the future if need be. I plan to taper w/ Cortifoam(every other day) for a little while and I hope that I won't have any more problems. I have used Cortifoam in the past w/out problems, but I understand the Cortenema has more steroid than the foam. I really do hate this disease! Let me know how you make out.
