Hi, Ive been doing the SCD/GAPS diet for 1.5months now and I was getting enough calories as it is hard to eat enough calories to maintain weight.
My diet consists of the following per day:
2 eggs 150cal , = 150 cal
50grams cashews 292 cal
Banna/pear/apple daily 105calx3 = 315cal
Avacado x1 = 250 cal
2 teaspon of organic/natural peanut/almond butter. 180 cal
150g lean meat appox 200cals
Vege's dinner = approx 50cal
100% natural Fruit Juice 200mlx3 =330cal
Serving of dried apricots = 55cal
Cheese and/or Yoghurt = 300cal
How ever recently I found how that the 100% apple juice I get from the supermarket has(and all juices i've seen) contains synthetic vitamin C/ascorbic acid which apparently is made in a lab and is showen to kill both good and bad bacteria and irritate gut lining. I apoligize for my ignorance but I shouldn't take this from the sounds of this. ie I have to remove juice from my diet and -330cals.
Also avocadoes here are not in season or are really expensive, so thats -250cals.
Leaving me with 1550 cals. In which I will lose weight eventually. I cannot live of 1550 cals per day unless I want to look like an undeveloped boy.
What can I do to add some extra calories. This diet restricts so much calorie dense foods its really hard.
Unless some one can come up with a solution I will have to eat illegal foods.
