Well these are my suggestions, if you want to take them its up to you.
1. I read some people have had relief with turmeric and L-Glutamine
2. Hydrocortisone enemas 100 mg (i'm currently using them at night because my bleeding returned)
3. Bee Propolis Suppositories (my grandmother sent them to me from poland, i take them in the morning and they seem to help, they're mostly used for hemmies but it seems to be helping me)
4. Change your diet, foods that are easy to digest
5. Try to avoid fiber rich foods in certain individuals fiber is hard to digest
6. Canasa Suppositories or Rowasa Enemas (Mesalamine)
7. Carrot Juice or smoothies. Cook raw carrots and blend them, drink warm your poops will be orange but Vitamin A has healing properties.
8. Switch from imuran to remicade (when prednisone failed me alone itself, i went on remicade, uceris, and now im down to my final taper or prednisone)
9. If all fails, GO TO THE E.R

Also if i may add, some people has success with LDN (Low-dose naltrexone)
I don't think a GI doctor would prescribe it, but just look it up on the forums

not to sound like a jerk but if you've been bleeding since january, waiting until august to see a GI can't be that bad. in my experience, going to the ER never helps. I've been prescribed prednisone 50mgs, tylenol 3, antibiotics, heartburn relief meds from ER docs. They know symptoms not the disease. I've been bleeding on and off since january too, man. It sucks because I know I've tried a lot of things and the more you try the less there is to try!

Can you call your GI"s office and try to to speak to him over the phone?

I don't understand why you just don't call your doctor's office, explain the situation, and let him tell you what to do. They will often do something without requiring you to actually come in to the office, especially when you're having these kind of problems and he can't see you for a couple of months. Going to the ER is often useless, unless you are not in the US. ER docs don't know much about treating UC, that's why they have GI's. Sometimes the ER doc will even contact your GI to ask what to do. You can do that yourself without going to the ER.

I've been bleeding since April of 2011. How much are you bleeding? Are you anemic? Are you having regular blood work done?

If you just started budesonide and Imuran two weeks ago, you haven't given them enough time yet to stop the bleeding completely.

I've been on similar meds as you since March, and while a lot of my colon is much improved, I still have serious ulceration up to 15 - 20cm, so I am still seeing blood.
