I believe that diet certainly is a factor.
And from personal experience, I have found that to be very true.
I tried SCD diet, but didn't find it helped enough.
When I switched to PALEO, I found it made a huge difference.
Paleo, btw, is anti-inflammatory diet, no grains allowed.
As you may be aware gluten and dairy are problematic for many of us with UC and Crohns.
Also, there are, imo, many important supplements which can help UC:
1) vitamin d3 - you should have your levels checked, as you are probably deficient
and there is a correlation between low vitamin d and UC
2) l- glutamine - important for long term colonic repair, but can be taken for D
3) slippery elm powder - for soothing of intestinal tract
4) probiotics are key, are you on any?
If any of this interests you, there are things IMO that you can control, which will have a direct impact on
your disease, the symptoms you experience and their severity.
I was able to control my UC into remission through various
supplements, probiotics, diet modification, and LDN , low dose
