Best bets are to take l-methyltetrahydrofolate and b-12. You'll want either methyl cobalamine, hydroxycobalamin, or adenocobalamie.. No cyanocobalamin. Some say that you shouldn't take methylcobalamin if you have other snps because you can't tolerate methyl donors. I have all those other snps and I'm fine with methylcobalamin ;). You want to take them both at the same time and you'll have to play with dose. Everyone is different. The current consensus is that you want to take no more then 1000 mcg l-Mthfr. I take much more because I've found I feel better on it. I took 5000mcg, work g up to it by adding 1000 mcg a week to 5000mcg to force
open my detox. I then stayed there for several weeks till I started feeling over methylated and backed down to where I'm at now. You also want to take the b12 and lmthfr at the same time as you risk a methyl trap if you supply one and not the other. It is also important to not take any folic acid. Your body can't process it and it will gunk up your folate receptors preventing your body from binding to the new improved bioavailable form of the vitamin you are taking. No fortified grains or products either. You will likely have some increased unpleasant symptoms. You may sweat more, break out, you may also have anxiety. Anxiety tells you that you are over methylated.
