Seek another life without him. You've done all you can, and I'll be forward enough to say this...he's released you from the burden/responsibility.You need to accept it, put a bandaid on your broken heart. You'll have a scar, but it's not a hindrance to move forward. Rejection is difficult to take. you have to ask yourself which aspects of this situation bother you the most. While it's difficult to accept, don't play the role too long. For a while is OK so that you can talk it out to seek other options for better perspective. That way you can place it into the box that now makes sense.
