I just started taking Lialda, 1.2g; I take 4 in the morning, after I take 1 pkt of VSL#3DS. This all before I eat. Anyway, I was on Asacol HD, 800mg taking 6/day. I was getting samples from my gi; but couldn't rely that there would be any available when I needed them. I didn't know about
a patient assist program for Asacol, but knew there was one for Lialda so I asked my gi if he could switch me to Lialda. Paying for Asacol would put me in the Medicare donut hole within 2 months and I take other meds that would all become costly. So, I got on the patient assist program and got my Lialda yesterday.
Today was my 2nd day taking them and although I am careful about
what I eat, I'm not on a gluten free diet. Today I think I overdid it with fresh fruit and not enough "solids" because I've had loose stool...not formed and a LOT of gas. And, although I've always had the sense of urgency, I've lost control twice...once yesterday and again today.
Can anyone tell me how they've done with Lialda and how many they've taken?
I'm weaning off of prednisone; I'm down to 2.5mg every other day for the next month and then 0. I also take Humira, 40mg 2 times per month.
Any input would be appreciated.
