I switched back the Chinese import and no blood seen after combining with P-seed powder, husk and VSL#3 - I take all of that 2-3 times a day but only once do I add the Qing Dai.

I am in a flare now and have never tried the wheat grass powder. It looks like GNC sells this. Has anyone tried their brand-looking for recommendations. Thanks

No I use some off brand from the discount table at vitamin shoppe. Worked great to shutdown the bleeding, then Qing Dai worked every time I needed to come down off prednisone.

This time without prednisone and I went to Sulfasalazine because it smashed Neutrophils which always skyrocket when I flare. That stopped the bleeding. I still take Qing-dai/Pysllium seed powder heaping spoonful, smidgen of metamucil orange and VSL#3DS together. Pysllium seed powder heaping spoonful, smidgen of metamucil orange 3 times a day if I can.

DanthaMan - I too am in the ATL. Would you mind sharing where you got the stuff? If you do not feel comfortable sharing it on the board please feel free to send it to me directly.

Captain Slow, I switched back to the one from China, I got suspicious the ones from the Chiro in Atlanta were not have the magic effect, but not clear yet I need to do more testing to be sure. The ones from china take forever and the Atlanta stuff is priced decent and looks exactly the same so I would definitively give that a go first.

Aguywithuc,

Howdy! How much psyllium powder do you mix up? Going to add it to my regime as I'm already taking Qing Dai morning and evening (1g am and 1g pm).

Thanks

Kevin Watson,

I used to go for 2 heaping spoonfuls once day. I think too much of this and psyllium husk can contribute to a little urgency so now I am more moderate

AM - 1 Heaping spoonful of P-seed powder after loading glass with water, qing dai,vsl#3ds,metamucil orange( 1/2 level spoonful for the flavor and some absorption but not too much volume in result )

Afterwork - 1 Heaping spoonful of P-seed powder after loading glass with water, metamucil 8:1 or 16:1

PM - 1 Heaping spoonful of P-seed powder after loading glass with water, metamucil 8:1 or 16:1

Also 2 sulfasalazine 3 times daily for now, will switch back to ASACOL HD later.

Cheers aguywithuc. Is that teaspoons or tablespoons?

It's pretty hard to find those wafers here in the UK but I'll what I can find. Might try the wheatgrass powder too.

Hitting the Atlanta brand this week to learn more.

Also I am have not planned ahead ( 6 weeks ) to purchase from China as Atlanta has not been ruled ineffective.

Nixoncar, I too am having good results. I'm going on 2 months and have consistently had zero bleeding for the first time in years. More people need to at least try it. It can't hurt to add it on top of meds, I myself am being a quineau pig to see if it works for my moderate pancolitis with no other medicines, so far it looks promising, need more time to be sure though.

Thank you for the good news. I have ulcerative proctitis and have been trying to get out of a very stubborn flare going on 8 months. Worse I've experienced. I also was switched to Lialda last month and have 7 canasa left that I am doing every other day to taper off.

In the 19 days I've been doing qing dai 1gm am and pm my blood, mucus and urgency have decreased significantly. Just a little blood in stool sometimes, but I can hold it much better these days and they are formed now. Probably not just the qing dai considering I'm on other meds but I think it can't hurt. Also my stomach feel normal more days than not now. I was at this point of almost remission 1 1/2 months ago, ran out of canasa and ended up back at the beginning. So I'm hoping this (and the switch to Lialda) will make the difference and get me back to a semi-normal place.

Wow, these reports are really good. I bought this but am currently using oral and rectal melamine and am on a 9 day symptom free roll.....I've decided to table this for now and try and use it someday to try and pull myself into a med-free remission (of course I hope and pray that day will never come) ;-)

Really glad to see people getting good results though.....nice!

I have a question for those who have taken Qing Dai, either by itself or in Isatis Cooling.

A small study from Keio University published in 2016 showed good results, BUT 10% of the patients showed liver dysfunction after two months of 2g/day Qing Dai. It reversed when Qing Dai was discontinued, but the researchers flagged this as a safety concern for long term use.

(Clinical Efficacy and Safety of Oral Qing-Dai in Patients with Ulcerative Colitis: A Single-Center
open-Label Prospective Study. Digestion 2016;93:193–201).

Has anyone taking Qing Dai been monitored for liver problems? Anyone had liver problems?

Restart hydrocortisone 12/2015
Start UMass IBD_AID diet 12/2015
Improved w/ Entyvio, hydrocortisone, IBD-AID
Colonoscopy showed clinical remission in 1/2017.

I'm going on my fourth month of Qing Dai. Haven't noticed any liver problems but I'll be sure to bring it up with my doctor and look into testing for it after the month is up. The only side effect I noticed was some substantial weight loss and when I ate it felt as if my stomach was being "stretched" and it hurt when I ate too much. These effects passed and I haven't noticed them since. I've gained all my weight back and everything is becoming more and more normal every day. I haven't bled a single drop since I started using it. There seems to be a period of time where the body is healing, ulcers don't go away overnight so some symptoms remain for a time but they heal over time. This probably explains the stomach pain when I ate, perhaps the entire digestive lining "tightens up" as it heals, this is just my guess though. The liver dysfunction noted in patients is considered both mild and rare so although it is a concern it's not severe enough to discourage people from trying it. Just keep an eye on it.
