Pepcid is not a ppi but a h-2 blocker. I guess the result is similar in what they do.
She has post surgical intestinal pain and can't take the ppi's or pain meds becasue they make her dizzy. Dr. ordered nexium, ppi, and surprisingly she felt relief, but felt very dizzy so she couldn't take it. Then she tried a tiny dose of pepcid and felt better from the pain but within the first few hours she has the frequency and then things settle down. She can't take anticholinergics, bentyl, etc due to a brain injury and they make her to dizzy to walk around.
She can't take fiber, since she is on a post surgical diet, low fiber
Sorry, I don't know but why would the aluminum in pepto be a problem?
