OM, I have read in the past that people with UC and people with UC who are in remission have a different bacterial makeup. The same goes for those who have no disease in the first place. It read as if those in remission have the same bacteria as those without disease. It would seem that bacteria have something to do with it but if so then those in remission shiould not replapse at any future time if it was the reason per say? Then leaving us to think that bacteria is not the final fix?
Another thought I had was that our immune systems are not completely broke it seems. If it was then we wouldn't be able to fight off a cold or the flu? I guess we can say our immune systems are disfunctional for whatever reason. But not completely broken but just disfunctional and therefore weakened? In my case I get sick form a cold or something at least 6 times a year..Not sure if anyone else is like that but would be interested to know.
I wish I could find the link that spoke about this.
