I have been using an ecig since I quit smoking. 3 ml of 24 mg/ml nicotine per day.
It's not the nicotine that helps me in a flare. Is is anatabine? Whole tobacco alkaloids? Carbon monoxide? Nobody knows, but there are research articles discussing it.
So, even though you have a cute ecig there (mine are monsters with kick) IF you do find yourself in a flare nothing else will touch, you could TRY a real cig if you're so inclined. I would have tried almost anything...
40 yo female, first flare 6 months after quitting smoking in 2009
Severe pancolitis - flaring late April 2013-June 2013 with up to 30 trips to bathroom/ 24 hr
Currently on 7.5 mg pred (tapering down from 40) DONE
Trying cigarettes 1 am, 1 pm...it seems to be helping! DONE
Using sulfasalazine and Asacol.
Have tried Asacol, Pentasa, Rowasa, slippery elm, boswellia, turmeric, probiotics by the dozens
