Thanks for all the quick replies. It's great to see such a good community here. To provide a bit more context, yes I have also been on daily maintenance meds since my diagnosis - colazol 3x/day. I've also been prescribed canasa during flare ups, which also historically helped as well.
As stated earlier, this flare is lasting much longer and both prednisone and the the canasa don't seem to be having much effect.
Speaking of the prednisone being processed in the liver, it it advised to not drink at all during prednisone? Not overdoing it of course, but is it advised not not even have 1 beer?
cross reference the specific liver enzyme - P45 or something, it does like 50 jobs so anything beyond prednisone conversion you want to avoid so there is plenty of it available.
licorice also allows the prednisolone to to linger longer because that enzyme gets pinched by something in licorice.
