PathogenKiller: Yeah, anything with marijuana related would be off limits for me due to my occupation, that's an interesting thought though. Thanks for the link regarding the wobenzyme, I've used a lot of supplements over the years for various reasons and can definitely see benefits with the ones that work.
seconder: I actually took Celebrex for a while a couple years ago during my quest to figure out what the hell was going on with my back. An orthopedic surgeon actually prescribed it to me. It seemed to work OK, I just couldn't see much difference between it and regular ibuprofen, plus ibuprofen was cheaper and didn't require a script
so I just took the Celebrex until I was out and moved on. I'm currently taking 10 mg Flexeril as needed. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. I know it works good for muscular pain, I just don't know how effective it is for inflammatory type pain. Lately I've been popping one of those with a couple Tylenol when I need to and it seems to at least take the edge off for me most of the time. It's just a shame nothing works as good as plain old NSAIDS. On days when the pain is unbearable or there is something going on when I specifically can't be in pain, I'll cheat (probably shouldn't I know) and take a couple Excedrin (for the aspirin). Like magic, the pain starts to fade within an hour and I feel great for the rest of the day. I only do this when I really need it though, maybe a couple times a week at most.
franny19: You're right about
the anti-tnf drugs, it was slightly annoying how the rheumatologist seemed to act as if Humira was my only option and wasn't overly
open to other options. Though I haven't been back to see him since my latent TB diagnosis. If he still pushes it without being
open to anything else (not saying he will, but IF) I will probably seek consulting with another rheumatologist.
