It will not give you the result you are looking for.
Apart from Prednisone and other medication (what are those?, and what dose of Pred is he currently on?) he will need nutritional supplement first. If my understanding is right, all these clay act as detoxifying agents. Although you do need to do that, not when his intestinal mucosa is this thin (or prone to get irritated).
Have you looked at probiotic supplementation like VSL#3, Nexabiotic, Probiotic-3, Prescript-Assist? Start with that first.
Look into Sodium butyrate capsules, start 1 3X a day, if everything looks ok, ramp it up to 2 3X a day (I take 1 3X a day, because that seems to be enough for me).
Good quality multivitamin and Vit D (separately). I bet he is low on Vit D.
L-Glutamine powder supplementation
Get a good quality B-complex supplementation. When in flare, I take 1/3 of B-100 2X a day.
Plus, B-12 (any form other than cyano form) should help, at least 1000mcg/day
Get going this first, get him off Pred and then do clay/charcoal stuff.
And cut Soy based food items, tofu, if it is not made traditionally.
All that I mentioned in available on Amazon and they will ship it to HK.
Dx 03/2007, left sided UC.
Sulfasalazine 1.5gm, Imuran, 50mg, Vit. B12, 1mg, Multivitamin, 1 tablet, Fish oil 2400mg , Vit D 2000 IU, Benebiotics 2caps, Folic acid 1mg. Canasa
Verapamil 320mg for migraine,
Nabumetone 750mg as an abortive, so far so good with GI side effects.
