My hot flashes used to be humorous but now they wake me up in the middle of the night. Sleeping pills barely knock me out enough. Of course I'm in the bathroom a lot in a rush. I use hypnosis and stress reduction techniques but it only has a small effect. I was still having this problem while on lexapro so not willing to go back on Ssri especially since losing 15 pounds when I went off.
My doc has reluctantly prescribed me hormone replacement therapy. What are your thoughts of risk vs benefit in this case, I've tried everything possible to get rid of hot flashes at night but nothing is working.
