My anxiety has always been there, mostly dealing with constant worry about
where the bathroom is (ibs) and avoiding any situation where a bathroom isn't close by or it's in audio range of others (people's homes). Since my colitis flare and subsequent accidents
my anxiety has been off the charts!! To the point I can't bring myself to partake in simple activities like hair cut or going to the dog park. I realized it was time to get help. My dr started me on elavil and I started seeing a psychologist. She seems nice and I was comfortable enough telling her my situation. She seems optimistic that she will be able to help me overcome some of the anxiety and how I think about
situations. This might not be a "UC" related post, but thought I'd share since I know the stress, worry, fear and anxiety of being sick can be a lot to handle for a lot of people (me!). I hope it makes a difference for me...at least I feel like I'm working on it, which gives me some sense of control.
