I have been on Humira now for 5 months and haven't had a flare since! I am aware of the horrible side effects and it does frighten me; however, I am thankful that my body is accepting it and it is healing in that area. I do hear the horror stories about Humira, so I have to remind myself how horrible off I was when I wasn't taking it to ease my anxiety. No more bleeding, stomach upsets, rushing to the bathroom episodes twenty times a day, and constant fatigue. I can also pretty much eat anything I want now as well without an issue occurring afterwards. :) I tried all the introductory meds for ulcerative colitis and my body rejected them. I also tried herbal remedies, diet remedies, and every other fad thing out there, and nothing helped me. Humira is helping for now, so I will be thankful for the time being. :)
After saying all that, I am noticing a lot of hair loss lately. My hair seems to be thinning out. I use to have super thick hair and now it is very thin. I wanted to see if anyone else has been experiencing this side effect while on Humira, and if so, what are you doing to try to prevent it. I am taking Biotin and all my vitamins (mulit, Vitamin D3, B12, probiotic, and Iron). I am a very healthy eater as well and I am on a gluten free diet.
Any thoughts or experiences are greatly appreciated. I guess I would rather deal with hair loss right now then stuck on the potty. ;)
