Can anyone shed some information on the symptoms of the right sided colitis and caecitis?
I have been noticing blood in the stool since I stopped Pred on 5th Jan'14. I had the sigmoidoscopy(till 60cm) done day before yesterday and it revealed the mucosa layer of the rectum is eroded(but no ulcerations) and the mild redness(but no ulcerations) in the sigmoid mucosa layer. My doctor said its ok, nothing to worry about
I was concerned and asked where is the blood coming from? My doctor said may be beyond 60cm there could be something going on and he suggested for the stool test to measure the calprotectin and if he finds it elevated then he will order for colonoscopy
So I wanted to get an idea of the symptoms of the right sided colitis and caecitis w.r.t stool appearance, blood, spasming. The reason is, this is where the roaring, rumbling and bubbling is happening especially in the caecum.
Oh yeah, I asked about
the redness around the sigmoid, the doctor said its due to the recovery from the inflammation I had in the month of Oct'13 to Nov'13. Any idea on this redness?
