Hate to burst your bubble but people get sick all over the whole world, not just in "the states".
1) In 2005 we accounted for more than 47 percent of the world's pharmaceutical sales. In 2013, it's went as high as 60% and is rising. We're not even the most populated country in the world
2) 70% of us are on at least one prescript
ion drug. Be it allergies, asthma, UC, whatever.
ion drug deaths have surpassed automobile deaths as the number one cause of preventable death in the country now.
It wouldn't be a stretch to say we're the sickest nation on the planet. Over-drugged and sick doesn't even begin to describe the problem now.
Try again, please.1 & 2) Didn't MediCare Part-D kick in right around 2004/2005? And on top of that didn't the FDA loosen the restrictions on the Pharma Industry advertising on TV? More demand but not because we are sicker.
ion drugs have been the drug of choice for the WASPs in the 21st Century. No more driving to the Projects or calling up your local drug dealer for a house call.... Mail Order Pharma and a Doctor who doesn't care is all that you need. Cars have only gotten safer, my new car has over a dozen air-bags, stability control, blindside notifications, etc... Police enforce Cell Phone and texting infractions. No wonder those Two comparisons are going in opposite directions. Recently they have started to try and slow down the Prescript
ion drug problem, the FDA did change some of the rules on Pain killers which makes them harder to get.
Pretty soon China will be the sickest Country in the World, they've only had their pollution problems for the past 2 decades and their population is aging due to the 1-child policy.
