There are so many people who buy into this anti-inflammatory supplement and food stuff hook, line, and sinker
Nobody, but nobody buys anything hook, line, and sinker. We take only what works. I don't even take anti-inflammatory mesalamines that were prescribed and recommended by my GI because mesalamines don't work for me. They made me worse.
For the past 25 years I have taken this particular anti-inflammatory food because it helps me. As you see it is also backed by science. Do you have a problem with me taking it, or letting other HWers become aware of its possible effectiveness? If it doesn't help them then they don't need to take it.
BTW you made a valuable contribution to our forum by sharing your experience with histamines and DAO. I am sure some people were helped a lot. Please allow me share my benefit from fish oil.
And it does help with UC.
Evaluation of the patients' clinical data at the end of the treatment periods showed a significant beneficial effect of fish oil supplementation. The mean disease severity score for the patients on fish oil declined by 56% as compared to 4% for the placebo group. Eight of the 11 patients (72%) were able to markedly reduce or totally eliminate their use of anti-inflammatory medication and steroids while taking the fish oils.
The researchers conclude that fish oil supplementation results in a marked clinical improvement of active mild to moderate ulcerative colitis.
And this from PubMed:
Taken together, almost all studies suggest some beneficial effects of n-3 PUFAs in IBD
