katarzyna: If you've read all of my posts over the last three years you can actually see that I have no trouble at all thinking outside the box. I'm having success with grape seed extract right now. That's outside the box. I also take DAO. That's a little outside the box too. I've also tried several other "natural" treatments not listed in my signature, including some diet changes. Even though very few of them actually made me worse, I finally determined that none of them actually made me better enough to justify the cost (even though most of them were fairly inexpensive) or the effort. These things had worked on some others.
Fecal transplants actually don't sound weirder to me than UT and many here have done FT themselves and don't rely on "outsiders". Even though I kind of agree with you in that "You are your own greatest doctor" I would like to argue that point anyway. That isn't always true and just because you come up with a crazy idea (even grape seed extract) doesn't mean that you are a better doctor than a real doctor, unless it actually works. In anamika's case we know that she is on lialda, remicade, and has done diet changes, so how do we know that that isn't the real reason she is doing better and it doesn't have anything at all to do with drinking her urine? She did state that those meds put her into remission!
There are too many trusting soles on these websites who are gullible enough to believe anything. We have had a problem with trolls here in the past or spammers trying to advertise their own products, such as anamika herself spamming about
Ayurvedic medicine back in 2009. It's one thing to talk about
Ayurvedic medicine and quite another to post specific links to specific products or services so that someone can make some money off chronically ill people who are desperate to try anything. I'm not actually trying to say anything bad about
Ayurvedic medicine (I'm sure it works for some). Whether you want to believe it or not some trolls would just love to post here, laughing hilariously that they got some of those chronically ill, desperate people to drink their own urine. Now I am not going to go so far as to accuse anamika of this, but we really don't know.
Here is what we do know:
1. Back in 2009 she was positive that Ayurvedic medicine was the ultimate cure all. Apparently it wasn't or she wouldn't be drinking her own urine now. Not a good track record for convincing me that she is so right now.
2. She was reprimanded for spamming advertising links in her 2009 posts.
3. She went into remission from diet changes, Lialda, and Remicade
4. She had some symptoms return and her dad "forced" her to drink her own urine and now she's a big believer, even though she is still doing the medical treatments. How many people here can say a parent forced them to drink their own urine? If her dad was so big on drinking urine, why didn't he force her to drink it before starting Lialda and Remicade? If her dad was so big on drinking urine why didn't he force her to drink it before doing Ayurvedic medicine or after the Ayurvedic treatments apparently failed?
I'm just saying there are enough doubts here that I don't think anyone should start drinking their own urine based solely on just anamika's advice. I'd also like to say that even though you have drank some of your own urine (apparently more than once), I see from your signature claiming remission that you don't credit it as even one reason for your remission so you must have felt it didn't really do much of anything for you or you would have put that in your signature, crediting it for being at least one of the reasons for your remission.
